Lycée Français International de Zurich

Founded in 1956, the Lycée Français International de Zurich is home to almost 1150 students of over 35 different nationalities, from Kindergarten to the final year of high school.
The school is part of the worldwide network of the AEFE (Agence pour l'Enseignement Français à l'Etranger), which ensures that teaching conforms to the curricula of the French Ministry of Education. The education provided at the LFIZ is also recognised by the Department of Education of the Canton of Zurich.
The educational offer is based on early language learning. From the age of 3, a French-German curriculum is offered and from the age of 6, pupils can follow a multilingual curriculum. At middle and high school, pupils can opt for a general section, an international French-German section and soon an international French-English section. They can then choose to finish their schooling with a Baccalauréat or a trilingual International French Baccalauréat.
The school is officially accredited and the teachers are trained to give the following language certifications: the DSD (Diploma of German Language from the German Ministry of Education), the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) and the DELE (Diplomas de Español como Langua Extranjera).
The Lycée Français International de Zurich is committed to imparting knowledge, know-how and interpersonal skills, encouraging each student to give the best of themselves and helping them to prepare for their future, thanks to its high-quality teaching.
The Lycée Français International de Zurich is located just one train stop from Zurich city centre, and the school's own minibuses provide a daily pick-up service from several towns in the conurbation. This service, combined with the after-school care center, which is also open every day before school from 7.50am (free of charge) and after school until 6pm (fee-based service), significantly eases the daily burden on families. Extra-curricular activities such as sports, art and creative workshops are available every lunchtime, after school until 6pm and during the school holidays.
The school ensures that learning is monitored and that the child's educational needs are met as closely as possible. School support enables pupils who need it to be accompanied in their acquisition of knowledge. It is organised by the teaching team, according to the specific or regular needs of each pupil, in agreement with the parents, in French and German, every day except Wednesday.
The school year runs from September to June. Enrolment begins in January. Pupils may also be admitted during the year, subject to availability of places.
